Then curiousity got the best of me and I yanked a piece of the film out of the pack and smashed the chemical pods with my fingers and what do you know, the chemicals were still wet and spread over the film and it turned black. ACE is similar to instax 2250 it do not have the springs, while is similar to the kodak with the springs. The film gate is more difficult though.

My next experiment is to try sheet film in it! My Dad worked for Kodak while the film was being developed and tested so a number of my baby pictures are on Kodak instant film. I’m happy to see that you got the camera working!

I done a few instatn with instax wide on old polaroid instant roll film cameras, even instax mini on an instax wide and a yashica mat can fit instax mini.

It was an speed film that was exposed through the rear, just like Kodaks was.

So not a complete loss. The film you’re referring to by Fuji is their ACE film.

But since Polaroid sued the Kodak brand film out of existence in the early 80’s, you will not find much of this film around and I would be surprised if any of it would even come close to working.

Discontinued in and was only sold in Japan so finding some here is about as easy as finding the lost ark.
